February 5, 2024 Misfit Monday Post:
Originally my Misfit Monday posts highlighted just a bloom but over time the real star of the variety became the main attraction, the hybridizer! Today's hybridizer needs to be mentioned before the bloom: Phil Traff. One of the greatest. Unfortunately I won't even be able to scratch the surface of this man's accomplishments with my post but now I can point you all to his legacy profile on legacy.nwdahlias.org. A must read! I can't even begin to summarize the influences that Phil had on the Dahlia world. He was just too good and sadly passed too soon.
So let's talk about CREAMY a yellow miniature ball that was introduced in 1993. Now I am not a fan of yellow, it's probably my least loved color of dahlia but this yellow I will grow year and year again! It is such a soft delicate yellow it's no wonder where the name comes from. And it's one of the dahlias that 5 lucky winners will be getting! Along with 4 other dahlias from 4 other outstanding hybridizers. All who can be found on the Dahlia legacy projects new website!
