July 17 2023 Misfit Monday Post: Misfit Monday! Today's pick is one that has been pumping out the blooms here in my garden since June, NETHERTON CINDY! This beauty was introduced in 2020 by Drew Graham from Pennsylvania. Although in the 2020 DOT the hybridizer's name is listed at "Drew Netherton" I'm guessing a typo. Also taking a guess that this stunner was named after Cindy Graham, Drew's wife or possibly sister? Drew can be seen in the last picture, courtesy of Gettysburg Dahlia Society, with his amazing cultivar. Drew also introduced NETHERTON MARION and NETHERTON ZALAH in the same year. Best guess the Netherton prefix comes from Netherton in Scotland (case and point Drew's shirt). Oh the things that can be found on Google LOL. But back to the flower! NETHERTON CINDY is a white B sized semi-cactus dahlia with lavender blush. My 1st few blooms didn't have any blush but I am happy to say all the blooms now have a perfect kiss of lavender. Fun fact: it is a sport of WINDHAVEN BLUSH, an A sized yellow semi-cactus dahlia. NETHERTON CINDY also was awarded the Lynn B. Dudley award for having the highest average seedling bench evaluation score. I am curious to see how she does in the show circuit this year against her classmates KENORA CHALLENGER, ALLEN'S ARCTIC FOX, & CLEARVIEW TAMMY
